If you don't know food, I don't want to know you.

I had been deposited next to the most mid western, rib-sticky, card PLAYING, grammar assaulting, food blandest, family in the entire establishment. Also severely adjacent to the busing station. The dishes were less of an offense than this family to me. Due to the nature of this arrangement I was privy to the families every utterance to each other. When the youngest among them complained of the slight amount of spice or zest in the myriad of dishes they distastefully, and expensively, sampled, I was reminded of a very familiar quote, which often fell from the lips of a very dear friend.

"Hot is not a flavor, it's a sensation."

But these folks were not him. They were in no way endeared to me. I was inclined not to accept it as anything more than obvious ignorance. Yes it was of food, but it painted a broader picture, of their broader ignorance.

Hrumph.
